Half-Life Alyx, so far, is the top tier VR game if you exclude the simulators like MS Flight Sim and the like. Some of the other experiences and such are cool but they do border on being a gimmick. Sony seem to be aiming high with they talked up the Horizon VR title in the PSVR2 spec unveiling but the jury is out on that one until it releases.

Some moments will make sweat, but they are passable in this way.Don't forget, you can still play the Half-Life collection free on Steam until Alyx comes out on Steam, and the full and final version of Black Mesa has just come out as well (which, if you're anything like Graham, you can also mod so you can play Half-Life 1 in VR).
As you can see, Half-Life: Alyx needs some serious graphical muscle to run smoothly, especially on higher settings. According to Steam‘s May 2022 Hardware Survey, only around 26% of users on the platform have a GTX 1060 or better. So 3 out of 4 PC gamers need an upgrade to officially play Half-Life: Alyx based on minimum specs. Sadly its the modding community to once again save a game from poor developement choices. This time by adding keyboard/mouse support for the half life fan base to actually play the title. Without need of VR gimmicks to boost VR headset sales; riding the decades build up on the half life 3 hype train. Thank you modders for your work. Half-Life: Alyx may not quite be Half-Life 3, but it may as well be for anyone who owns a VR headset.
