After that, you remove the stopper (like corks attached to the bottom of the window. Once that is done, you simple pull the window out. Then you remove the middle regulator guide screws (I want to say 4 total, two at the top and bottom of the door). Then you remove the 3 holding the motor in. Then you do some gymnastics and pull the regulator out.
Remove the 3 metal frame pieces marking which side goes up (important). (HARD) Carefully and gently remove the top & back panel & rain rail from the studs and lift slightly out of the interior. The rain rail is very fragile. The top and back panel are all riveted (really grommeted) to the rain rail.I then placed the 2x4 again on the wall, lined up the lines, and drilled in the first lag screw through the 2x4 and into the wall stud. I then used a leveler to adjust the 2x4 and once level, I drilled the lag screw in on the other side of the 2x4, then the remaining two screws. In all it took about an hour and a half to do it and less than 20$.
Remove the frame from the car. Holy hell, did this make things easier. You don't have to fight with the vinyl and - more importantly - with the tension cables. It makes it so you're not worried about losing screws inside the car, or about scratching the paint, or, really, about anything. A bit of rubbing alcohol to remove any oils seemed like the right choice. Amazingly, there was very little black stuff on my white microfiber after I finished cleaning.
